What is Numerology?

Numerology is a divinatory practice that gives symbolic meanings to numbers. FateArc follows one modern Western convention often called Pythagorean numerology: it adds digits repeatedly while preserving 11, 22, and 33 as master numbers. That exception is a symbolic rule of this convention, not part of the mathematical digital-root operation.

In this convention, a chart may include Life Path, Destiny, Soul Urge, Personality, and Birthday numbers. Their interpretations are prompts for reflection rather than evidence-based predictions about personality or future events.

Sources and method

The historical link between Pythagoras and later number symbolism is complicated, so the label “Pythagorean” describes the modern convention used here rather than a method proven to have been written by Pythagoras. The calculation steps are shown so another person can reproduce the same result.
