November Energy: How to Win Retrograde Season

So November is here, and we begin the month in the throes of Double Retrograde energy.

While we know this energy isn't necessarily great for fresh starts or arriving at crystal-clear conclusions, it's an awesome time to consider recurring patterns and experiences in our lives which may have come up for the umpteenth time.

What are they encouraging us to revisit differently?

I'm going to use an example from my own life here.

I lost my mother earlier this year, and while this isn't my first dance with death, it has hit very hard. (Everyone knows that Cancerians are closest to their mothers!) I've been overwhelmed by the intensity of grief and emotional upheaval that are natural consequences of this kind of loss.

Even knowing what I do about the afterlife, it's still been a massive period of readjustment because, along with the loss, comes a ton of other shifts, including family dynamics, relationships, etc., which all need careful and sensitive realignment.

So, of course, I reached out for Spiritual Guidance. (Yes, even those of us who do this professionally have the humility to seek an alternative perspective when necessary.)

And I have to say, I was greatly disappointed, not to mention disillusioned, by the lack of authentic support available.

I've had so-called psychics and mediums tell me, "They cannot know and will not guess."

Let's be clear: when we need logic, we go to professionals, right? The point of consulting a Spiritual Guide or Medium IS to gain a deeper perspective on the energy beneath the surface which may be affecting our circumstances, guidance on the wisest way to navigate forward and, of course, an understanding of when cycles may end or shift.

Now, most of us are fully aware that things don't magically transform overnight without us engaging our free will and making wise choices. I'm personally NOT a fan of instant cures, fixes or magic wands.

I believe that nothing really leaves us until we learn the lesson and shift how we respond to it.

I found myself growing increasingly annoyed (that people could charge for adding zero value). So many unabashedly do a hatchet job with AI. The lack of integrity only fuelled my outrage!

Until it dawned on me: I'm supposed to experience this, so I know exactly where the gaps are, because guess who gets to fill 'em?

Now, of course, much depends on my own willingness, readiness and openness to receive guidance, right?

I've been reading for and healing people for decades, and I can tell you that much depends on where we are emotionally and energetically in our own lives.

It doesn't matter how old we are, either.

A recent client in her 60s calls me, talks my ear off, paying scarce attention to a single word I say. She's full of righteous indignation, outrage even, but hasn't an iota of self-awareness.

Ain't no way I can help her now, is there?

She even said to me at the end of our session, "Oh, you didn't tell me anything I don't already know, since I am psychic myself!"

I had to gently but firmly remind her that many of us who offer guidance are equally open to receiving it!

Now, this lady is actually very intelligent. She holds a doctorate, is very well-spoken and is always ready to stand up for what is right. We can, however, see how she gets in her own way here, right?

We all know people like this: people who believe they have all the answers and are resistant to hearing anything contrary to their own beliefs.

So, these are two great examples of how to avoid falling into repetitive patterns and step into observer mode.

This, my friends, is a great way to make optimal use of the Mega Retrograde energy throughout November. There are five planets currently going backwards! And there are many gifts this energy can bring us if we use it wisely.
