When the shadows stretch and the world grows still,

And a quiet cold creeps over the sill, Remember, dear soul, in the silence you keep,

You are not truly lost as the night grows deep.

The stars in their millions are shining above,

Each one a small beacon of patience and love.

They wander the cosmos, yet never alone,

In a beautiful dance that the heavens have known.

So let down the weight that you carried all day,

Let the breath in your chest chase the sorrow away.

The darkness is gentle, a soft, holding hand,

A blanket of peace draped across the wide land.

You are worthy of joy, you are whole as you are,

As deep as the ocean, as bright as a star.

May your thoughts become light, may your heavy heart mend,

As the stillness of night wraps around like a friend.
