The Elder Futhark Rune of the Day

Note: For any that may have missed my updates, I apologize. I've had some health issues lately and needed to take time to rest and recover. But I'm back as of today, Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

In the Northern Hemisphere, it is summer time. And as we leave behind the trappings of spring and dive head first into the heat of summer, it is more than mere chance that today's Elder Futhark Rune of the Day is Sowilo or Sun. For Wednesday, June 24, 2026, this rune represents many things. It is known to represent victory, happiness, joy, success. More than that it's celebration, vitality, power, and light. It's confidence and ability. It is life giving.

Today, this is a reminder that there is much to celebrate even in the face of struggling. Seasons come and go, but life continues on day after day. Regardless of circumstances, we are being reminded to claim victory over any trial we've been enduring. Success can be measured by many aspects instead of just title or monetary worth. Healthy relationships, food in abundance, breath in our lungs. The smallest victory, like waking up and embracing the day, is enough to celebrate the journey your soul has endured.

Pain itself can be a victory, success, power when we harness it as the energy that pushes us to pursue health. Pain reminds us that we are alive. Regardless of where you are today, find the vitality in your life and claim it as a victory. Take a deep breath in and thank the universe for the opportunity to claim victory over another day. Even in death, we can take a moment to celebrate a life that lived regardless of how small or large a time it existed. In sorrow, we find the truth of grief and that is that there was a connection. Whether it was a connection that taught us lessons or wrapped us in unconditional love, each connection has a purpose and we should take a moment to reflect and appreciate what that connection brought to our lives.

Much as the sun shines light on the earth by day, our minds and how we focus them, helps us to see what in our life serves and what can be set aside. Relationships, careers, objects, with the light of Sowilo on our day, we can discern that which can and should be celebrated. We claim victory over our struggles. We embrace our vitality and life. We claim our power and allow it to provide clarity. We confidently declare joy in the face of adversity. Today, we will tell the universe we exist and that is more than enough to own the energy we seek to surround ourselves with to proclaim our importance to life itself. Because today, we are enough and that is a victory worth joyously celebrating.
